My Fishing Narrative.

On a bright sunny saturday my Cousin, Brother and I were playing Soccer at Dunkirk park the results were 9-8. I was losing because he had my brother but even they were smaller than me they were good. My Brother was the Goalie and my Cousin was the Player. While I was just a Player. So I went and tried to trick my Cousin. I asked him “Can you do a slide tackle?”. He replied in the affirmative. So he came at me with with one good. I just sidestepped him and went for the goal. I did a X-Scissor trick and got a goal. Then we all decided on Last Goal Wins. My Cousin started of I slide tackled him and got he came at me but I just juggled it over him. Then I was close to the goal and rainbowed it over him and got a goal. Just then my Dad came and me and him went fishing. I asked my Dad where we were going for fishing. He replied “The Ocean”.

Once we got there we got our fishing rods at the ready and started fishing. I wanted to catch a big fish. So I got heaps of bait on the fishing rod and started fishing. I waited and waited but not one fish got caught on my fishing line. Meanwhile my Dad had it good he caught heaps of normal fish, weird fish and small sized fish but he let the small ones go.

Then after what felt like an hour or 2 I finally got a small tug and pulled it up knowing that it would be a small fish. Once I reeled it in and let the small fish I put my fishing rod in the water again. As soon as I put my fishing rod into the water I felt another tug and knew it was a small fish so I let it go. I asked my Dad “How many fish have you caught?”. “Well I think it is about 20 or somthing close to that” he answered grinning. 20 or something!. Thats lots. I thought to myself.

Just as I finished thinking I felt a tug. This tug wasn’t just a small tug or a big tug it was a humongous tug. I felt like my arms would come out of it’s sockets. I felt weak facing such a powerful tug. So I got another fishing rod and pulled than the humongous fish out of the water. My Dad saw the fish and said “ That fish is called the God Fish. It is the father of all fishes. It is said that whenever 1 fish gets caught it gives birth to 2 fish and when to fish 2 fish are caught it gives birth to 3 fish and so on and so forth”. As soon as I heard that I felt bad because the God Fish is the father of fishes than if I take it then the fish won’t have a father. That means they would become orphans. So I let the God fish go but before I let it go I whispered to it “Be careful because not everyone is kind and friendly. Some people would just catch you for fame and riches. But at the same time try to be a good father. Bye”. And then I pushed it into the ocean. “That was a very good thing to do” my Dad said. “Thanks” I answered. My Dad explained to me “Nature and everything in it is very precious. Just because you did that doesn’t mean everyone else would.  ”

My Summer Poem

Crazy days

Running along with the hot summer sand,
Yuck! Dribbled the ice cream on my hand.

Smashing the crabs with my feet,
Trotting about and making a beat.

With my team playing volleyball,
Me oh my! Forgot about the fall.

Closed my eyes to feel the breeze,
Suddenly hit a tree which made me sneeze.

Now, no more dreaming under the sun,
Or I might see a dragon and forget to run.

Watching the sun bounce back to its place,
What a day full of praise.

Hi, this is a poem that I wrote with a huge help from my older cousin. Thank you and please comment on my blog.

My Ocean Facts. By Abdurrahman.

Ocean

A Sea is a large body of salty water. A Sea may be partly or completely surrounded by land. Did you know that Oceans and Seas cover more than 71% of the Earth's surface? Wow thats a lot of water. The Pacific Ocean is the largest and deepest Ocean in the world. The Pacific Ocean has the title as ‘Peaceful Ocean’.The Pacific Ocean alone covers 30% of the earth. This is a picture of the Pacific Ocean:

My Volcano Facts. By Abdurrahman.

Today I read about Volcanoes. I also read about Ruaumoko Volcano and I learnt that Ruamoko is like a human baby. When he is asleep all on earth is calm and quiet. But when he is awake there is a eruption. Also I learnt that magma is a mixture of molten rocks and gases. Now you may be wondering what molten means. It means materials that have been melted by the heat. Did you know that there are Volcanoes of all shapes and sizes?. I learnt that Mount Ruapehu is an active Volcano.

My Scale Drawing. By Abdurrahman.

This is my scale drawing.we had to chose an image and we needed to draw the image. We needed to go to use an app called comic life and write some sentences to explain our scale drawing.  I am proud of my drawing because it looks nice. Something I think I could have improved on is to not rush.

My Recount. By Abdurrahman.

                   Making a Present.

It was a bright sunny day.  The sun was shining. It was 10:55 AM. Everyone in my house was sleeping accept for my Dad who was at work. We were sleeping because they had had a hard day. The day before was the end of term 2 and Ramadan a blessed month in Islam had started. In this month we muslims  fast  from sunrise to sunset.  So our Dad had been going from shop to shop getting presents for Eid the end of Ramadan celebration.

My smallest brother was the only one that was awake he started waking up my other brothers and together they started making lots of noise. Soon everyone was awake and getting their beds done. My Mum started making our small brothers breakfast. Then she asked me,my smaller Brother and my Sister “Do you want to make a present for your father for Eid?” she asked. “Yes” we all replied.”But what will it be” asked my Sister. “I was thinking maybe a cooking book” my Brother answered. “  Yes . I was thinking that too but won’t it be expensive” I said. “The good cooking books are something like $70 or something like that”my Mum added. “Then I’m not going to help” my Brother said stubbornly and then left. “Anyway I was thinking something like a white shirt and on the front and we make a big A because that’s the first letter of all your names. Also on the back we write his name. Along with our hand prints in paint” my Mum said. “That’s a good idea but could we colour it in with paint and in the front at the bottom we could write ‘Best Dad Ever’”I added. “Okay” they both replied.

So my Mum went and bought the things we needed. She bought a packet of paintbrushes and blue, green and black paint. My Mum drew the A at the front and me and my Sister coloured it in.  After we finished it my Mum went to my little Brother and asked him if he wanted to make a card for dad. He replied with the positive. So my Mum cut him a green square card. My Mum used green because it was my Dad’s favourite colour. Then my Mum asked me if she could use my Netbook  for finding an image for the card. Once we found an image we traced it on the card. By that time me and my Sister had finished painting the front of the shirt. So my Mum came and wrote ‘Best Dad Ever’ at the bottom. Then we left it to dry. In the meantime we helped my little Brother with the card. We finished the card and went to check if the shirt had dried. But it didn’t. So we let it dry a little longer but by the time the shirt had dried our Dad had come home. So when he went to the mosque we finished colouring in his name. We were all so excited because it was nearly finished and Dad hadn’t found out about but we were also worried that the little ones would tell Dad and that the next day he would  have work at night. When our Dad had come back home we played with him and then went to sleep. The next morning we couldn’t finish it. So we waited until he went to work and then we put our hand prints on it. Then we put it under my Sister’s bed so it could dry.

Finally it was finished and we were all soo happy. We made the little ones promise not to tell Dad. They agreed. We all breathed a sigh of relief. The present was finally finished.

When the day for Eid finally came my Dad, my little Brother and I went to the mosque for the Eid Prayer. When we went back home our presents were wrapped up and ready for opening. My littlest Brother opened his one first. “A Fire Engine!” he exclaimed. Then it was my second to last Brothers turn. “A-Tri-Scooter” He burst out. Then it was my second to first Brothers turn “A Scooter” He bellowed. Finally it was my turn. “A Scooter” I burst out in happiness. After me it was  my Sisters turn. She opened her present. “ What is this?’ she asked. “ It’s a NutriBullet. Something that you can make drinks with” my Dad replied. “Who’s this one  for?” my littlest Brother asked anxiously. “ It’s for your Mother” my Dad answered. When my Mum opened it she gasped. “It’s a phone” she said full of joy. She was so happy because her old phone wasn’t touch screen but her new one was. “Now bring the shirt” my Dad said. We were all so surprised that he knew about the shirt . “How did you find out?”we asked shocked. “Don’t try hiding anything from me” he said grinning. So we got it along with the card but there was a small box wrapped in wrapping paper. When my Dad saw the whole shirt he smiled. Then he read the card and he smile got more wider. Finally he opened the box. Inside it was a pen with his name on it. The pen looked expensive. “Let me guess is it $60?” he asked my Mum. “ Yes. How did you know?” she asked. “ Like I said don’t try hiding anything from me”. He said. “ Thanks for the presents” He finished.
